One life lesson: be dog
and service for the god emperor of men kind
a winning puppy is the one you choose to love.
A winning puppy is the one under control. A puppy that you will love, is a puppy you love.
Aww, no
LUL no if a dog canβt act like the way this guy is describing itβs a headache. Facts.
Yes but this is what a winning puppy would be for police and guard dog training
Yo dog runs off barks and doesn’t eat
He means a winner for top training. He isn’t saying other dogs aren’t worth loving.
You can’t be using that kind of sound logic around here!
right. these are signs a dog will focus and learn commands easily. Not necessarily better suited for other types of activity (home protection, chicken protection, snuggles, digging, not digging, etc)
βSheβs a little killerβ. We know what he means sheβs a winner for.
@Tahtahme’s DiaryΒ You do. I said it because many comments seemed to think he was against lesser performing dogs, and seemed a little upset.
Haha yea as soon as I heard him say that I knew there was gunna be a billion comments all yapping about how every puppy is a good puppy yada yada
How to know you have a good puppy:
Is it a puppy? It’s good.
Nah..some pups are defective
?no
In reference to if it deserves love? Yes.
But in the context on if or not it would make an adequate police dog? No. Many to-be police dogs end up being sent to shelters because they arenβt cut out for the work (too timid, not smart enough, too stubborn)
@@youraveragemexorican Agreed not all pups are good working dogs. It’s just a play on All dogs are good dogs.

My Pit freaked out, screamed, and ran under the picnic table because a leaf landed on her back. We laughed so hard. Even the Border Collie laughed. She came out of from under the table wagging her tail feeling silly. She’s not normally afraid of a lot of things. I wonder what she was thinking about when it landed on her?
I dropped a feather on my dogs face and she literally jumped in the air like a cat while pissing herself. She somehow managed to get drops of pee all over the living room.
That’s a bad sign,. How is it gonna react when a toddler pinches its face or pulls its tail
She thought it was that ghost finger that *you* think is going to touch your naked toe at night.πππ
Has she been stung by a bee/wasp before? She could’ve thought it was a bug about to hurt her. π€·ββοΈ
Why did I think this said βshe ran under the panic tableβ π
We chose our puppy, jasper, because he was the smallest of the litter at the time and held his own. He tried greeting us and the most dominant of the litter pushed him aside. Jasper clapped back and then relocated to say hi. He loved all of us equally, which was really important for us. But overall, what I’m looking for is a glint in their eye. Something that says “I’m here.”
Weβve got a daschund, heβs two now, he was the runt of the litter bullied by his sisters. Last to walk, really quiet slept all day. Fast forward to now heβs absolutely huge for a dog of his size, strictly on a diet of cabbage, broccoli, carrots, chicken and eggs. And also one of the loudest, outgoing and confident dogs weβve ever hadπ funny how things go
Lucky family Jasper chose YOU all. He will be easier to train bc he chose you.
Heβs talking about training police dogs and guard dogs heβs not saying you shouldnβt pick other dogs to have as pets
@Lewis. BΒ funny how that goes! One of my cats was absolutely TINY for her age when we got her and now she’s a 16 pounder. She’s not even fat lol
@Laurie MacQuananΒ yesss, we had to leave him at the shelter for the weekend after we adopted him, and he was so sad. He literally clutched onto my sister like a little koala π he’s a very good boy and smart, but still trash on a leash lol
All these are signs that the puppy grew up in a good care. They were socialised
Nope, itβs a mix of nature and nurture
Not necessarily. Some dogs are special needs naturally. Genetics is a helluva thing.
Itβs both desensitization and genetics.
No that shows that it has good genes the parents were well rounded n confident dogs unlike if you were to breed shy/skittish dogs all your pups would be shy n skittish to the point where they can become fear aggressive
@@arianamarengo3289 itβs both what your comment is saying and the original commenter. Environment and genetics determine a dogβs behavior. Even very experienced breeders with successful lines desensitize puppyβs.
she was on point from get-go .. that dog passes with flying colors
She’s game and will scratch. I want her
I am curious. If a dog is food driven, how do you train it to not take food from a house robber? π€
She looked pretty scared when he threw that pan on the ground…
@@v4v819do you have your volume up?
@@nunovurbiznisit wonβt take food from someone that it sees as a threat, your dog is stupid if it does that.
The confident ones are for winners. The scared ones are for friendship.
I agree, I have a scarred dog and is good for only being a friend. I didn’t purchase him as a friend. I have friends (humans). I purchased him as a confident protective breed for family. Taught me a lesson.
β@@Ramsseasontkthldra dog can be a friend too lmfao, time to give ur dog to someone who wants a friend. Tool.
@@JD-tz8bpu miss the point dogs work not friends
Completely missed the mark – he uses the word “winners” as in “can be easily trained = what he’s looking for”
β@@Ramsseasontkthldrsounds like you just don’t get it
I held my dog like a baby the first day I adopted him. He now does search and rescue work. Heβs the smartest dog Iβve ever met.

I agree. I thought he was going to tap it or something. Didn’t help I was wearing headphones π
Youβre not a winner π
Ehh, you must be not good for training π€£
You’re a bad dog then.
I love my little dog who struggles with confidence. Watching him overcome his fears and gain confidence to be a dog is so heartwarming. Heβs still curious but heβs just timid. Other dogs and people see if and he improves so much with every interaction and his agility is amazing. Once he realizes heβs capable with encouragement heβs going to be a star
This test is mainly on choosing a guard dog, every dog is a winner, but since he’s trains dogs that are meant to protect people this is a way for them to better choose a puppy that will.
Even if the breed of puppy can’t that’s okay the breeder will choose a home for a family who wants the breed without the guarding tendency
@@Lazyspaceout so what happens to the loser puppies? Euthanasia?
Have you seen the 30 some videos/free webinar by One Mind Dogs? OMG! Quite the mind blow! We do Rodeo Dog – barrels and tunnels – and it even helped us with that. Hope that helps.
I have a very timid and nervous puppy. I started taking him to training classes, and the instructor wrote this beautiful message about how he he’s been practicing, getting more comfortable, and gaining more confidence every day. β€ I bawled my eyes out when I read it.
@@Ryanneey that’s awesome! We have a few students with puppy mill Moms who were shut down the very first class. They probably didn’t even know what grass was before the owners adopted them. First class I said just get them to take treats – they did and they even got them to do a few exercises too . Very next class, today as a matter of fact, they came in just a bit more confident. Wait till next week – am excited to see them come out of their shells. So happy for you guys! Hope that helps.
My rescue puppy passed none of these tests when I first brought him home. But he is the best dog ever and he can pass them now.
Mine too. They survive by running away.
@TheSwimmom1Β sorry to heat that. β€οΈ
@@empresswb641 Oh no, I think I was unclear. My dog didn’t run away but he survived on the streets before we rescued him by being wary of loud noises and strangers. He is the sweetest shy dog.
@TheSwimmom1Β ahhhh I see. Yes, same with my little guy. He is the sweetest and smartest dog I have had. I think it helped that I was not working the first year we rescued, so I could devote lots of love and time for training and bonding. Glad you have an awesome story too.
Good job training. My rescue dogs are loyal as they come and eager to please.
That dog reacted calmer to the bowl being smashed on the ground than I would have
that would make you not a winner by this guys standards
β@@grogerevans6802 Worse does not immediately mean run and hide, so OP can still be a winner.
Same, I guess Iβll never be a good show dogβ¦..
My rescue dog would have freaked out because she had been badly treated for years. I wouldnβt have returned her for the world. She was an amazing dog. β€ RIP Luna
RIP sweet baby girl. And may your own heart be healed so that you can someday adopt again, and rescue another in Luna’s memory. β€β€β€
If it helps, heβs just talking about βa winnerβ for specific or advanced training. Luna was a winner in other ways. β€
Yeah, note that he’s talking about dogs intended for special work. Law enforcement, guide dogs, etc.
The best companion I’ve ever had was a coydog, who would have run for the hills on that test and NEVER was comfortable on top of anyone–she was NOT a lap dog in the least–and she was the biggest coward when it came to being around strangers unless accompanied by a member of the family. But what she brought to our relationship was so great that it more than made up for all of her shortcomings and I miss her terrible since having her depart this world.
Ha! My female lab would have failed all those tests. She was an amazing dog with a huge personality that instantly got along with other dogs and cats. She passed at the age of 12. Long live the dogs that fail tests but still have all the love in the world to give.
Absolutely.
