Give them a treat when they go, especially in the beginning (a treat for a successful potty break is always worth it imo)

@@millybrandwood2466I use wee wees for mine but I’m sure everyone has their own special word. Another tip. Don’t teach your dog the word walkies or anything like that. People will tease them. Use a similar word so when people try to tease them it won’t work
@@JackKindlesticks yes we use quick though annoyingly my smartass border collie mix has worked out when me and my partner are talking about going on a walk and if he wants a walk he will steal his harness,collar,halti or ect and start prancing around and or playing with it to let us know 😅🤣

Definitely follow that delay rule. My sister’s dog is so funny and full of personality, but he always takes a long time to go to the bathroom. Why? Because he knows that right after he does, he has to go back inside instead of staying out where all the fun stuff is

Punishing a dog when they go in the wrong place is terrible because they can get a phobia of it and if no one’s around to let them outside they’ll suffer for hours, I know from experience with a family member’s dog, he was crying horribly for hours and we didn’t know why until the owner told us he needs to be let out. She probably also trained him not to scratch at the door or maybe he was confused because he was in a new place.
EXACTLY. If you think this old wive’s tale works when you get a puppy or dog then you should not have dogs until you get good education about dogs.

my pup was just born potty trained idk why but she has only had one accident and that was the first time she was at our home and she hasn’t done it since
My pup is 8 weeks old and can’t even stand up for a minuite lol, so I just let her walk around the front yard and supervise here

Guys please don’t reward or praise your puppy for using the bathroom on the floor if they use a puppy pad and potty on that that is rewardable but if you constantly reward your puppy for pottying in the house it’ll become a habit to your pup so maybe give them and little fuss and a little tap no need to be hella aggressive with them just to where they understand oh I have to use the bathroom out side
What do you do when your puppy can’t go outside yet do to not having it’s shots ? All theese videos about take your puppy outside but I was told not to cause he doesn’t have all his shots.
Nice but harnesses are terrible for training dogs. Use slip leads
